If you’re born on the Isle of Man then chances are you’re going to grow up on and around motorcycles. But the island’s great road racing history didn’t appeal to David – it was Enduro that fired his imagination. So much so that six British Enduro Championship wins have been followed by two world titles, an indoor world crown and back-to-back GNCC Championship wins in 2007/08 in the US. After a brief return to WEC in Europe in 2009, Knighter returned to the US and to winning ways with immediate victory at the super tough Snowshoe GNCC event in West Virginia on his new ride, a Kawasaki KX450F. Now back with the KTM team, Knighter is competing in the E3 class of the 2010 World Enduro Championship on a four-stroke machine with the KTM Farioli Support Team.
